In constant fight or flight? Maybe you’ve tried to navigate the mental healthcare system before but felt discouraged by providers not honoring your lived experience. Welcome! My name is Jalyssa (they/them/ella) and I am an indigenous/latine, queer, neurodivergent, and nonbinary practitioner who uses multicultural counseling methods to serve those with intersectional identities, family/relational conflict, complex trauma, gender dysphoria, and co-occurring disorders. I offer a space where you are the expert of your own lived experience. Together, we will collaborate in ways which can help you not just survive, but live fully and authentically.
I bring an anti-oppressive, systems-based lens to treatment that helps empower my clients to express their unique needs and thrive in their strengths. I take a person-centered approach to treatment planning and incorporate tools from DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, ACT, and art therapy. In my work with youth and families, I leverage elements from EFFT, play therapy, and the ARC model to provide trauma-informed care.
As a provider, I seek to offer a decolonized space. Disrupting the power imbalance between client and therapist is a key part of this goal, and I always encourage honest feedback. I understand the courage it takes to seek help and the barriers to therapy that exist for many. Each person reading this has navigated their own battles before even entering the therapeutic space – all of which will be honored through our time together. It is my goal to help you feel safe, supported, and empowered as you acquire new coping strategies and perspectives.
Experience
I have a background in serving moderate to high support needs youth/adolescents and empowering gender diverse clients of all ages.
I started my career in case management for foster youth and adoptive parents, supported Transgender clients in therapeutic outpatient settings, and worked with higher acuity clients with depressive, mood, behavioral, and trauma disorders in Intensive Outpatient Settings. I have some training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and am CPR Certified.

I was struggling with my anxiety and depression and I wasn’t sure what to do. After searching all over Seattle I finally came across Seattle Wellness Center. Their staff was warm, welcoming and accommodating to my needs. I could not thank them enough for everything they have done.
