Emily Lee-Escher

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Washington.  My focus is on working with adults and adolescents individually with varying issues.

My specialties include working with clients who are dealing with relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, multicultural concerns, women's issues, depression, disordered eating, and body image issues. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and blend elements from other approaches to tailor treatment to meet the needs of the client such as Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Strength Based Therapy.

Being the daughter of Chinese immigrants, I have firsthand experience straddling between cultures, cross cultural barriers, and intersectional identities. As an Asian American therapist, I am committed to providing culturally competent treatment.  My approach to therapy uses clients’ strengths, and my style is warm, collaborative, and empathic.  I see the therapeutic process as a transformative and healing experience.

I was struggling with my anxiety and depression and I wasn’t sure what to do. After searching all over Seattle I finally came across Seattle Wellness Center. Their staff was warm, welcoming and accommodating to my needs. I could not thank them enough for everything they have done.
